Blood pressure check in Solihull

If you’re aged 40 or over and live in England, you may be eligible for a free NHS blood pressure check at a participating pharmacy. Eligibility criteria apply, and the service is designed to help identify previously undiagnosed high blood pressure. If you’re unsure, walk in and we’ll tell you what applies.

Walk-ins are welcome. If you prefer, you can call us before you visit to check opening hours and the best time to come in. If the pharmacy is busy, there may be a short wait, but we’ll do our best to help as efficiently as we can.

We’ll take your blood pressure using an appropriate monitor, explain what the numbers mean, and advise on next steps. The check is usually quick, but allow extra time in case you need a repeat reading or the pharmacy is busy.

If your reading is higher than expected, we’ll explain what that means and what to do next. Depending on the situation, this may include repeating the reading, discussing lifestyle factors, or advising you to follow up with your GP for confirmation and ongoing management.

ABPM is a monitor you wear for 24 hours that takes readings throughout the day and night. It can give a more accurate picture of your blood pressure over time. It’s usually considered when an initial reading is elevated and a clinician wants more information before confirming a diagnosis.
